David Manley Awards 2008
07 October, 2008
The sixth annual David Manley Emerging Entrepreneur Awards will be presented at 14 -15 St.Stephen's Green, Dublin on Wednesday November 5th 2008.
Award Background:
This is the sixth year of the David Manley Award which nurtures Ireland's entrepreneurial spirit. The Award was established in 2002 by a group of David Manley’s friends to honour his contribution to, encouragement and mentoring of SMEs during his short life time.
However, in 2006 the Committee decided that honouring enterprise in commerce only was not a broad enough recognition of the mentoring and advice that David gave across the spectrum – which was to people in the arts and social sectors as well as in business.
Therefore, in recognition of David Manley’s ‘gift of time’ to a range of entrepreneurs, from 2006, the David Manley Awards will feature two additional dimensions – one recognising Social Entrepreneurs and one recognising Artistic Entrepreneurs.
The David Manley Emerging Entrepreneur Award has become the Premier Award for emerging entrepreneurs, or in the words of EirGen Pharma, last years overall winners “it must be regarded as the number one accolade for any emerging business in Ireland”.
Our award is unique in being the only award in Ireland which focuses exclusively on Emerging Enterprises and incorporates the business, arts and social sectors. Our aim is to nurture Ireland’s entrepreneurial spirit and the impressive list of previous winners bears testament to that.
